Which Fabric Should You Choose?

Four fabrics. All Italian. All WavyTech™. One is right for your home and three are wrong. This page helps you figure out which is which in about five minutes.

No jargon. No filler. Just the honest truth about each fabric — who it is for and, just as importantly, who it is not for.

01
100% Microfibre  ·  OEKO-TEX® Certified

Microfibra Embossed

The one most people end up with. For a reason.

This is the fabric that was engineered to take real life and not show it. The fibres are thinner than human hair — which sounds like a marketing line until you understand what that actually means. Thinner fibres pack more densely. More density means dust lands on the surface instead of burrowing into it. It means pet hair releases when you brush it off instead of weaving itself in permanently. It means the colour you pick on day one is the colour you still have after the fiftieth wash.

The embossed texture is not decorative. It is structural — pressed into the weave so it does not flatten with use. It gives the cover a subtle richness that reads as deliberate, not generic. Twelve colour options for 1–3 seater. Five for 4 seater.

If you have never bought a slipcover before, this is your starting point. It is not a compromise. It is the default for a reason.

This fabric is for you if

You have pets, children, or both — or you simply want something that performs without asking anything of you. If maximum colour choice matters, this is also your answer.

This fabric is not for you if

You specifically want natural material, or you run warm and find synthetic fabrics uncomfortable in summer heat. There are better options for both of those situations below.

Microfibra Printed

For when the cover is part of the design, not just furniture protection.

Most people buy a sofa cover to hide something or protect something. A small number of people buy one to say something. Microfibra Printed is for the second group.

The pattern names alone tell you who designed these: Mediterraneo Bordeaux. Graffio Terracotta. Vittoria Grey. Ricciolo Cream. These are not generic patterns chosen to be inoffensive. They were designed in Bergamo by people who think seriously about surface texture and colour relationship. They hold their pattern integrity under full stretch, which is technically non-trivial — most printed stretch fabrics distort at the curves where WavyTech™ is doing the most work. These do not.

The honest caveat: if your room already has a lot going on, Microfibra Printed will compete with it. This fabric works beautifully in rooms with neutral walls and clean furniture lines. It works less well when the sofa is already in a room full of pattern and colour.

This fabric is for you if

You want the cover to be a visual element in the room, not something that disappears into it. Or if you are genuinely tired of how your living room looks and want the fastest possible change.

This fabric is not for you if

Your room has strong existing colour or pattern, and you just want the sofa sorted without adding visual complexity. Plain Microfibra Embossed in an accent colour will do more for you.

100% Organic Cotton  ·  OEKO-TEX® Certified

Goffrato Cotone

The one that takes the least from you and gives the most back.

There is a specific kind of sofa discomfort that synthetic fabrics create in Indian summer. Not dramatic, not unbearable — just a faint clinginess when you have been sitting for a while, a warmth that accumulates instead of releasing. Cotton does not do this. It absorbs, breathes, and stays at ambient temperature rather than holding yours.

Goffrato Cotone is 100% organic cotton — not organic-wash cotton, not organic-blend cotton. The fibre was grown without synthetic pesticides or herbicides. The finished fabric has then passed OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 testing, which means it also cleared the chemical safety bar at the manufacturing stage. It is the only fabric in the range that has been independently verified clean at both ends: the farm and the factory.

The colour range is limited to Cappuccino and Vanilla. This is not an oversight. Achieving the organic certification and chemical safety compliance through a wider colour palette would require the very dye processes the certification prohibits. Two neutrals was the honest choice, and they are both genuinely beautiful.

Important: organic cotton takes longer to dry than synthetic fabrics. Plan for this during monsoon. The payoff in every other dimension is worth it.

This fabric is for you if

You live somewhere hot. You have a baby or toddler who is on the sofa daily. Someone in your home has a documented fabric allergy or sensitive skin. You simply care about what things are made of and you want the answer to be unambiguous.

This fabric is not for you if

You need a specific colour beyond Cappuccino and Vanilla, you have a 4 seater or sectional sofa (not available in those sizes), or you wash covers very frequently and need the fastest possible drying time.

100% Polyester  ·  Velvet Elastic Surface

Goffrato Velvet

The one with a specific job. And it does it better than anything else.

Velvet has a property that flat fabrics do not: it catches light differently depending on the angle. Run your hand one way and it deepens. Run it the other way and it brightens. This is the quality Italian interior designers have used for centuries to make rooms feel expensive. Goffrato Velvet brings this to a stretch slipcover without losing the engineering underneath.

The practical reason most people end up here: they have an older sofa. One with a worn patch on the armrest, or fading on the back where the sun hit it for three summers, or a cushion that never recovered its shape. Goffrato Velvet's elastic surface coating does something no other fabric in the range does as effectively — it visually erases what is underneath. The worn patch disappears. The fading disappears. What remains is a sofa that looks as though it was deliberately chosen, not desperately covered.

The honest constraint: Vanilla only. One colour. If you have a strong vision for a specific colour that is not Vanilla, this is not the right choice. But if Vanilla works with your room — and it works with most rooms, which is why it was chosen — the result is remarkable.

This fabric is for you if

Your sofa is old, worn, or visually past its best, and you want the cover to transform rather than just protect it. Or your room already leans warm and neutral, and you want to add a considered, premium finish without a renovation.

This fabric is not for you if

You need anything other than Vanilla, you have a 4 seater or sectional (not available in those sizes), or you have pets with claws who use the sofa as a scratching surface. Velvet pile does not recover from repeated claw contact the way microfibre does.
